A wonderful time was had by all at the Inaugural Human Trafficking event at Scanlon Lexus Saturday night.

Local business leaders and supporters came out with their wallets open to help with the noble cause and awareness of human trafficking. Carmen Dellutri, of Dellutri Law Group was a fabulous Master of Ceremonies.  Yaro Garcia, Clinical Director at Abuse Counseling & Treatment spoke on the horrendous problem we have as a state and nation on trafficking and you could have heard a pin drop.  Then Misty Kenzel who was a victim, explained how this happened to her, the horrendous experience and how she escaped.

Everyone is still raving about the wonderful food and music from the 10 local restaurants and niche caterers that partnered for the event. The Scanlon families were fabulous hosts and Lynn Brewer and her team did an amazing job of pulling it all together.  We are already looking forward to next year’s event.

The showstopper was the heartwarming donation from a couple who placed the winning bid on the donated blue diamond necklace from Dunkins Diamonds. Graciously they gave it to a human trafficking survivor…. what golden hearts surrounded us that evening!

While it was a great fundraising event, donations can still be accepted on their website swflhumantrafficking.org

Thank you all for showing your support!! See you next year!
